2017 USASA Nationals – Copper Mountain Colorado
The First Annual USASA Foundation Banked Slalom kicked off in style with 14 teams of four registered to take on a truly old school, fantastic course.
Teams knew their combined fastest times would determine who went home with the First Place Title and the Golden Bindings.
Teams from Woodward, Gravitee, Maine Mt Series, NH Series, RideMass Series, Catskill Series and teams with USASA Alumni were in strong force for the event.
USASA Executive Director Mike Mallon pulled together some heavy hitting USASA Alumni, Olypmic Boardercross Bronze medalist Alex Deilbold and Olympic Halfpipe Gold and Bronze medalist as well as World Cup Bordercross rider Ross Powers to round his team with Jeff Juno. Olympian Tricia Byrnes joined Mattie Schaffrick, Tori Koske and Dash Kamp, but it was USASA Northern and Southern Vermont Alumni John Murphy, Keegan Manning, Tyler Emond and Connor Manning who brought some east coast fierce to the course and came away with the Gold!
The USASA Foundation looks forward to putting on this event each year at Nationals on the Friday between Snowboard and Freeski weeks. A super fun, competitive vibe and great athletes of all ages coming together to support the USASA Foundation.
